Purpose:The purpose of the Pilates Instructor is to provide safe, effective group Pilates instruction in accordance with all Club Pilates guidelines and expectations. The Assistant Lead Pilates Instructor assists the Lead Pilates Instructor in service as an exemplary example of this and ensures that all instructional staff within the studio are abiding by brand standards.Qualifications: Minimum 450-hour Comprehensive Pilates education (Minimum education to include; Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Springboard)At least 1 year experience teaching PilatesUp to date CPR & first aid training and willingness to maintainDeep understanding and alignment with the Club Pilates methodsComfortable learning and adding TRX, Functional Standing Movement (Barre), and TriggerPoint modalities to repertoireDemonstrate anatomical knowledge and attention to safetyDemonstrated group reformer instruction abilities with ability to modify for different individuals in classExperience teaching 6 or more participants in an apparatus-based group classPassion for learning and willingness to complete continued education trainings or workshopsTeam player & proven leaderPleasant demeanor and excellent customer service skillsProfessional and effective communication skills with proven public speaking skillsPunctual and reliableAbility to recognize areas of improvement and proactively communicate with managementStrong problem-solver who consistently uses excellent judgmentAbility to work harmoniously and communicate clearly with the public, management and instructorsProfessional, neat, trustworthy and ability to maintain confidentialityOrganized completing tasks and schedule changes promptly on a daily basisProficient in (or ability to learn) ClubReady software for managing the instructor / class schedule, verifying / updating time clock logs for the instructor team, and general daily in-studio use (i.e. class check-ins, point of sale purchases)Proficient in (or ability to learn) Prospr software for communicating with the management and instructor team consistently on a daily (and often hourly) basis, publishing and maintaining the instructor / class schedule keeping the Prospr and ClubReady class schedules in sync, and general daily use in and out of the studio (i.e. supply request and maintenance request tickets, providing instructor team resources)Essential Duties: Maintain open availability for a minimum of 15 hours (4 shifts) per weekProvide Pilates instruction to include Intro classes, group apparatus classes, private training assessments, private and semi-private training as scheduled by management and pursuant to Club Pilates standardsCollaborate with Lead Instructor on content from monthly Lead Instructor conference calls and assist with subsequent training of staff in regards to topics covered on these callsAssist Lead Pilates Instructor and studio management team with managing studio schedules:Manage studio schedule and ensure class types, times, levels and instructors scheduled are ideal to maximize occupancy and member satisfaction. Collaborate with management team to gather / understand member feedback and ensure General Manager can align front desk schedule with class schedule changesManage instructor sub requests and adjust schedule accordingly. Find coverage for sub requests or sub classes yourself when emergency and/or escalated sub requests occur.Coordinate instructor availability for private training; collaborate with studio management team to coordinate private training assessments and private /semi-private training sessionsPlan, coordinate, and execute member workshopsPlan, coordinate, and execute instructor workshops based on member feedback within the studioAssist Lead Pilates Instructor with mentoring and coaching instructors:Mentor instructors as needed to ensure their teaching reflects Club Pilates standardsProvide mentorship and practical in-studio guidance for Apprentice Pilates Instructors, preparing them for comprehensive teachingAssist Lead Pilates Instructor with equipment maintenance and studio cleanliness:Must be skilled at proper and safe use of a variety of equipment during each class, including, but not limited to, hand weights, Chair, Reformer, Springboard, TRX, Magic Circle and other equipment as needed to ensure a safe yet creative group experienceVisually inspect the equipment prior to the beginning of class to ensure equipment is in good working order and safe to useRegularly inspect equipment for damage or wear and make recommendations to management about updatesResponsible for studio tidiness and returning equipment to standards set by studio managementEnsure that all images posted on social media sites reflect proper form and safety standards and are in alignment with Club Pilates brand standardsMust arrive at a set time prior to the beginning of each scheduled class or private/semi-private sessionParticipate in networking/community events as needed to help generate new businessStay up to date with, and implement Club Pilates education standards at all timesMaintain honesty and integrityAny other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements & Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
