Tech Insights Practice Overview Technology Insights Group (TIG) at Bain & Company is a rapidly growing global team of world-class technologists. We work with leading Private Equity (PE) investors and their tech-enabled portfolio companies to act as technical advisors in investment processes. We conduct product and technology due diligence engagements and value creation assignments, leveraging our extensive expertise in software and understanding of commercial environments specific to tech-enabled businesses. The Global Technology Insights Group team consists of technology savvy consultants and former CTOs and CPOs of leading global technology and software companies with decades of both advising and operating experience. The team has completed 400+ product and technology diligences and value creation engagements worldwide. Over the past 3 years, we supported our clients on some of the most visible technology investments in the US and Europe, including several of the Top 2022 and Top 2023 software deals. We conduct engagements spanning enterprise applications, vertical applications (HCIT, FinTech, EdTech), infrastructure software, cloud software, and tech enabled services (IT services, e-Commerce, AdTech). WHAT YOU’LL DO

Joining Technology Insights Group (TIG) is an exciting opportunity to build a new and critical capability at Bain. You will work closely with the global Tech leadership and the regional private equity (PE) teams. At Bain, you will leverage your technology and consulting experience in actively contributing to projects, assessing key aspects of leading software companies for PE investors. You will help our clients strategically approach how technology will shape their businesses and solve some of the most challenging issues they face. Working alongside an outstanding group of individuals, you will develop and enhance your own technology expertise, commercial acumen, and analytical capabilities. Additionally, you will gain direct exposure to CEOs, Executives, and Private Equity professionals. Whether your long-term goal is to grow with us, join a PE/VC firm, or to start the next great technology company, you will build a fantastic foundation by joining our multi-talented and highly motivated team. Responsibilities in Detail: Lead and drive technology due diligence and value creation assignments on behalf of PE investors targeting software businesses. Actively contribute across the entire client engagement, from formulating the project scope to building and presenting the final report. Drive and support the primary and secondary research efforts of the team; collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data across a variety of sources. Conduct hypothesis-led problem solving, communicate complex ideas, and approach problems strategically. Effectively develop and communicate recommendations and insights to the project team, PE investors, and technology leaders. Invest in special initiatives and projects that help us scale the practice (ops/systems)

ABOUT YOU

The Expert Consultant, Technology Insights Group role requires passion for transformation, an entrepreneurial spirit, empathy, and technical aptitude. The following are highly valued: Passion for software Demonstrate a passion for software as well as the tech industry more broadly (e.g., digital transformation, disruptive business models). 3+ years in a software or technology-related position or industry; Technical due diligence experience is strongly preferred and/or technical background in a PE firm. Ability to rapidly absorb and interpret technical information. Inquisitive mindset and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. Client service orientation and EQ Passion for delivering high-impact client results in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional agility, ability to interface across any level at Bain and client organizations. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Undergraduate/Master’s degree from a top tier university in a relevant field (i.e., computer science, engineering, business management, information systems). MBA and Top tier consulting experience preferred but not required. U.S. Compensation Information Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best in class benefits package (details listed below). Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salaryrange be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows: In New York City, NY and Boston, Massachusetts , the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time basesalary range for this role is between $170,000 - $190,000; placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level For all other locations, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salaryrange for this role is commensurate with competitive geographic market rates for this role and will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level Annual discretionary performance bonus This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date Bain & Company's comprehensive benefits and wellness program is designed to help employees achieve personal independence, protection and stability in the areas most important to you and your family.
