Join to apply for the Remote Nuclear Reliability Engineer role at Actalent 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the Remote Nuclear Reliability Engineer role at Actalent Job Title: Remote Nuclear Reliability Program Engineer Job Description We are seeking an experienced Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop, mature, and manage maintenance, reliability, and systems operability plans for a new nuclear power application. This role requires expertise in ASME Codes and processes, specifically In-Service Inspections (ISI) and In-Service Testing (IST). The ideal candidate will have real-world experience in maintenance and reliability planning for nuclear power facilities and reactor systems. Responsibilities Develop applicable maintenance and engineering-related programs. Define, develop, and manage plant-level programmatic requirements for advanced reactor technology. Ensure program development and implementation support overall project development, and inform system, structure, and component design. Identify applicable industry Engineering and Maintenance Programs related to ASME Code compliance, ISI, and IST, and apply design requirements through the development of programmatic governance and standards. Assist with the identification, development, design, and/or integration of special tooling, robotics, and automated or remote maintenance platforms to support plant maintenance. Lead and/or participate in plant design reviews to classify plant equipment for the development of a lifecycle plant asset management strategy. Collaborate with design engineers to incorporate maintenance requirements into the design of nuclear systems and components, ensuring ease of access and serviceability. Ensure all maintenance aspects of the design comply with relevant nuclear regulations and standards, including NRC and international guidelines. Recommend system design alterations and enhancements to improve reliability, maintainability, and operation from an assembly, transportation, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and/or decommissioning perspective. Prepare and review detailed maintenance documentation, including procedures, manuals, and technical reports, to support the design and future operational phases. Collaborate in the technical oversight and direction of internal or external teams. Organize maintenance engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, contractors, or other groups as required. Collaborate in planning, scheduling, and organizing detailed phases of engineering work. Facilitate and assist in the assessment of customer needs and capture requirements. Execute engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives; utilize conventional specification and/or Interface Control Documents and plans. Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. Lead the execution of core tasks and responsibilities without close supervision, with some latitude for independent judgment. Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members in executing core tasks and responsibilities. Lead small groups of engineers or specialists to solve complex technical problems and deliver high-quality maintenance work products on time and within budget. Essential Skills Project management Reliability engineering Maintenance program development Project engineering Experience in the nuclear industry Knowledge of ASME Standards including In-Service Testing (IST) and In-Service Inspection (ISI) Experience with the creation and management of maintenance, reliability, and RAM (Reliability Assurance Management) programs Planning skills Knowledge of OM Code and ASME Section XI Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or a related degree from an accredited institution 10-15 years of experience in an engineering, maintenance, or operations role Experience with OM Codes, ASME Section IX (Small reactors), Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), and Reliability and Integrity Management (RIM) program development Knowledge of Pressure Vessel codes and other related codes General knowledge of systems engineering concepts such as program requirements development, traceability, tracking, and monitoring Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
