The YMCA of the Seacoast is hiring a Teen Program Coordinator who will oversee teen programming for the Kittery, Maine community. This position is instrumental to the daily operations of the program held at the Kittery Community Center and works directly with the young adults that the program serves.

This is a part-time position serving a new and expanding program area. The incumbent will oversee the daily use of the teen center (starting schedule for the program is Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, approximately 2:30 – 6:30p) and implement programing for once-a-month teen events (flexible date and timing).

This team member will interact directly with the program participants, serve as a role model, implement activities and develop an engaging and supportive culture focused on character development.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Oversee teen programming communication with participants and families
• Assist with building community relationships and outreach to enhance teen programming
• Partner with the Director of Day Camp & Teens to support the YMCA Leader’s Club
• Assist with the day-to-day oversight of the Teen Center staff as the program expands
• Manage program participant behavior in accordance with YMCA policies and best practices

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with teens/young adults
• Possess strong interpersonal and group management skills
• Experience in a recreational, educational or camp setting preferred (or similar experience)
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people of all backgrounds
